Is specifying “ATEX” enough?
No. The location classification, required marking and sample conditions must be checked against the proposed configuration.
Analyser selection considers both the surrounding atmosphere and the gas passing through the system.

EL3060 uses flameproof enclosures. The control unit can contain a Magnos28 oxygen module or a Caldos25/27 thermal conductivity module; the Uras26 photometer has a separate enclosure.
ABB offers Zone 1, category 2G versions with ATEX/IECEx certification. Select the supply against the marking and certificates for the actual configuration.
| Check | Required information |
|---|---|
| Installation environment | Zone, gas group, temperature class, ambient temperature and site requirements. |
| Sample inside the instrument | Composition, flammability, oxygen, pressure and anticipated abnormal conditions. |
The assessment covers the whole path: sampling, tubing, fittings, pumps, valves, vents and supplies. A certified enclosure does not automatically make the other system components suitable.
Allow maintenance access, connection space and identification of sample and calibration lines. Unit positioning must permit maintenance in accordance with ABB instructions.
