Four ways to build a temperature measurement point

NINVA TSP341-N
Non-invasive

NINVA TSP341-N

Non-invasive clamp-on sensor for metal pipes or vessels: no process penetration or thermowell. Uses TTH300-derived electronics and algorithms to compensate ambient influence. ABB measurement range: -40…400 °C.

TTH300 or TTF300?

TTH300 in the sensor head

A compact choice where electronics can be located at the measurement point. Reduces analogue sensor wiring and sends a conditioned signal directly to the control system.

Remote / field-mounted TTF300

For electronics in a more accessible or protected location, a remote local display, or adverse vibration and temperature conditions at the sensor head.

SensyTemp TSP

Standard, heavy-duty or without a thermowell

TSP111 / TSP311Without an integrated thermowell: fits an existing thermowell.
TSP121 / TSP321With a welded protection tube for standard industrial applications.
TSP131 / TSP331With a solid-machined thermowell for greater process loads.
TSP341-NNon-invasive clamp-on: no pipe penetration.
Application guidance: Temperature alone does not define the model. Consider pressure, fluid velocity, vibration, materials, required response, access and whether the sensor must be removable during operation.
NINVA

When does non-invasive measurement make sense?

Revamps and new points without shutdown

Particularly useful where a new penetration would require a shutdown, welding, thermowell design or process work permits.

Reduced mechanical risk

Removing the thermowell eliminates an immersed element exposed to flow forces. Pipe material, insulation, ambient conditions and thermal dynamics still need assessment.

FAQ

ABB transmitter FAQ

When should I choose TTH300 instead of a field transmitter?

TTH300 is ideal where electronics can be mounted directly in the sensor head, reducing space and wiring and bringing signal conversion close to the measurement point.

When is ABB TTF300 preferable?

For a robust field enclosure, better electronics access, a local display or physical separation from the sensor due to environmental or maintenance conditions.

Does TTH300 accept both Pt100s and thermocouples?

Yes. TTH300 has two universal inputs for RTDs, thermocouples, resistance and mV, with redundancy and drift-monitoring functions.

What is the difference between TSP100 and TSP300?

TSP100 covers standard and moderate-duty applications. TSP300 targets heavy-duty applications and offers broader Ex protection options. The exact configuration depends on sensor, thermowell, head and transmitter.

What changes between TSP111, TSP121 and TSP131?

TSP111 has no thermowell and fits an existing one; TSP121 includes a welded protection tube; TSP131 uses a solid-machined thermowell.

What is TSP341-N used for?

It is a non-invasive clamp-on sensor that measures temperature without drilling the pipe, installing a thermowell or shutting down to create a new measurement point.

How do you replace an older ABB TH/TF/TR/TS transmitter?

We start with the full code, mounting, sensor, range, output and certifications. Older families migrate to current TTH, TTR or TTF platforms according to version, without assuming one-to-one equivalence from the model alone.
